At today’s Annual General Meeting of plc (‘betinternet’ or ‘the Company’), the global on-line gaming company, it was announced that Burnbrae Limited had exercised the option, which it was granted when it entered into its Subscription Agreement with the Company in December 2001, to nominate a non-executive director to the Board of the Company. As a result, Mr Jim Mellon, a nominee of Burnbrae Limited, has today been invited by the Board to become non-executive Chairman of betinternet, with effect from 1 January 2003.

The Board of betinternet stated in its recently published Report and Accounts that it was seeking to separate the roles of Chairman and Managing Director. Following Mr. Mellon’s appointment, Mr Vincent Caldwell will remain as Managing Director of betinternet.
