betinternet.com plc, the AIM-listed Isle of Man based online and telephone tax-free betting service is advancing its strategy of increasing its share of the global gaming market through a link-up with Virgin Atlantic.

This latest move follows hard on the heels last week’s news that betinternet.com plc has been granted a gaming licence in Malta. This will help the company provide access to global tote betting as well as being able to offer UK residents a tax-free betting service for the first time. Until now UK residents have not been able to bet tax-free.

Through its link up with Virgin Atlantic betinternet.com plc will be able to reach the 4m passengers who fly with the airline every year on more than 10,000 flights. Like Virgin betinternet.com plc is particularly strong in the Far East market where there is great demand for sports betting, especially on televised European soccer matches.

Vincent Caldwell, Chairman of betinternet, said: “the company is proud to be associated with Virgin Atlantic. The huge advances in international communications will soon enable people to view, bet and pay from anywhere around the globe – perhaps even from 35,000 ft!”
